I went on a social media fast for a month. Here’s what happened.

    October 1, 2019 /

A month ago, on September 1st, I deactivated my Facebook and deleted Twitter and Instagram on my phone. I’m gonna go on a total social media fast for at least a month, I thought. I’ve come to realize I may have a smartphone/social media addiction, and it’s getting out of hand. We all know social media can be a blackhole but my phone tells me I’m on my phone for an average of 7 hours a day. SEVEN HOURS! ANO TO, FULLTIME JOB?!

Detail from a painting I’m currently working on :)
Hello
Can’t wait to finish this painting 😍 I’m learning to mix custom colors instead of buying premixed paint (I’m lazy about color mixing) and using it straight from the tube. I’m also trying out more muted color palette to ”age up” my work a bit and attract a more focused market 🤗
My painting corner today 🌈 working on my first canvas painting for the year and unloading the excess green and red paint from my palette on to my sketchbook so it doesn’t go to waste (swipe) :)
Just a fun little personal project before I officially start working on my 2021 paintings tomorrow :)
Every year I try to make a graphic for my word of the year. For 2021, I asked God to give me His Word for me. I was lead to SEEK, with this as my corresponding verse: You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
Personally, 2020 was a good year for me (coz my 2019 was 🤮). And art-wise, 2020 was one of the best 🥺 By God’s grace, I have found new direction, new life, and His anointing on my art 😭
My last painting for 2020 and my first painting of Jesus. For weeks I’ve had an image or a concept in my mind of Jesus resting, and I had to get it down on canvas.
Wishing you an early Merry Christmas! May we take the time to quiet down in the next few days and truly find the meaning and reason for this season ❤️🙏🏼🤗
